Have you experienced that uneasy feeling of returning home from a vacation feeling exhausted and disconnected from your self care routines, feeling the need for a vacation after your actual vacation?  Are you someone who wants to better themselves, who loves personal growth and self care? Wouldn’t it be nice to return home from a vacation actually feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and connected to yourself?

If your heart is saying “YES!” right now then wellness retreats might be the best way for you to travel the world!

Wellness retreats offer unique group experiences, as most people who go on them are looking to improve their lives in some way. Most people on wellness retreats are positive people looking to have a relaxing, fun, fulfilling experience. Chances are you are going to end up with a group you love. Whether you are traveling alone or with a partner – friend, parent/child, sibling, significant other, etc. – wellness retreats are an amazing way to experience the world together in community.

There are wellness retreats hosted just about anywhere in the world. You can google search by location and find lots of options for your dream destinations. If you already have a coach or teacher – yoga, pilates, fitness – that you trust and who hosts wellness retreats, you could join their retreat. Or, since you are here reading this Eyia Retreats blog, you could also check out Eyia Retreats’ teachers and retreats! At Eyia Retreats, we vet all teachers and locations so you have the best wellness retreats to choose from.

This year Eyia Retreats is hosting seven different retreats: (1) Sole Dance & Yoga Retreat, (2) Seeing Deeply Retreat – A Wellness Retreat for the Inspired Photographer, (3) Ignite the Goddess Within – Dive Into Bliss and Manifest the Life you Desire, (4) Connect Retreat – reconnecting and strengthening the connection between yourself and someone you care about, (5) Art of Living Well – a blend of culture, history, art, food and wellness, (6) La Dolce Vita: A Luxury Wellness Retreat in Italy, and (7) Kat’s Favorites Tour.

What’s great about wellness retreats is that your vacation is basically planned for you. Your group leader should be offering and scheduling activities for the group. Of course everything is optional, so you can also skip out on something that doesn’t appeal to you, and you can schedule things for yourself or you and your partner outside of the pre-planned group activities.

The very first yoga retreat I went on was in Hawaii – what a dream! I didn’t know anyone except one of the two teachers. I really wanted to travel, but didn’t want to travel alone. I was happy to be a part of the group, but also had a very solo experience, which I was needing at the time. Wellness retreats offer the space you may need to be alone or experience things alone. And they also offer the group setting if being around people is what you want most.

I have also been on many yoga retreats with my mother – Puglia, Italy, and Samos and Amorgos, Greece.  It was a great way for us to travel together and get mother-daughter time, but also not just be the two of us… if you catch my drift. We were able to get quality time alone and also have time with the group, which helped alleviate any family tension. We always had a blast on these retreats together and the memories are ones we both cherish and carry with us forever.

Whether you are a traveler at heart in need of a group to help fulfill your travel dreams, or you’re in a partnership looking for a pre-planned group travel experience, or you want to better your life in some way, or you just want something different than your typical vacation, wellness retreats are for you!
