Our wellness retreat in Tuscany is a thoughtfully curated travel meets retreat journey where elegance, adventure, and well-being meet. We begin with two inspiring nights in Florence, where timeless beauty, rich culture, and vibrant energy set the tone. From there, we head to the dreamy Tuscan countryside for four nights of pure bliss, where rolling hills, beautiful villages, and golden sunsets become the backdrop for deepening your yoga practice, savoring slow living, setting the scene for daily yoga, delicious food, and plenty of laughter.

Teresa Gonzalez

Teresa is a yogini and lover of nature with a creative heart.

Aside from yoga, she also enjoys movement such as cycling, hiking, swimming, and dancing. She brings over 20 years of yoga experience with a solid practice in Vinyasa, Restorative, Yin, and Partner Yoga.

She wants to share with her students all of the adventure, peace, flavors, smells, warmth of the sun, and cool water that Greece has to offer.

Teresa is passionate about teaching her students how to find peace and bliss in their lives by awakening all the senses to take it all in. She believes any type of meditation is an important daily practice whether that looks like a mindful walk, sitting still, practicing breathwork, etc. This is one of the many tools that supports her teachings.

Her philosophy of taking it all in also involves opening the heart with yoga, inviting restful sleep with meditation, and waking up to beautiful sunrises to fill up the inner vessel of beauty.

Creative expression is also one of her gifts and she enjoys creating art by painting on canvas, paper, walls, on a t-shirt, or just drawing a Mandala in the sand, using her fingers and toes, and decorating them with sticks and stones that she collects nearby.

Ruben Gonzalez

Ruben’s introduction to Yoga came many years ago from the philosophy side by reading the classics texts and meditation practice, as he combined a professional life as a data analyst for over 35 years with an active life in sports, mainly soccer. 

 Later in life, Ruben moved more through cycling and triathlons, and discovered that yoga helped shorten the recovery time after races and hard training sessions. He also discovered that yoga helped him with his posture at work, and finding more mental clarity. All of this led him to get his 200hr yoga teacher certification. 

Through breath-centric movement, Ruben encourages his students to find harmony within their bodies and minds, fostering a deeper connection to themselves.

Ruben’s teaching philosophy extends beyond the physical aspects of yoga. He believes that yoga is a powerful tool for self-discovery and personal growth. In his classes, you’ll find an invigorating safe space to develop a sustainable practice.

This dream travel and retreat experience takes place in Florence, the enchanting city of the Tuscany Region in Italy. From the iconic Duomo to the charming streets, Florence captivates with its timeless beauty and vibrant culture. From Florence, we venture into the serene hills of southern Tuscany, near the picturesque village of San Casciano dei Bagni, a charming medieval village. It is about 2 hours north of Rome and 2 hours south of Florence.

Where We’ll Stay

In Florence, we’ll stay at the centrally located Grand Hotel Cavour, a historic medieval palace set in the heart of Renaissance Florence. One of the hotel’s most special features is its breathtaking rooftop terrace, offering stunning panoramic views over the city and the iconic Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore — the perfect place to soak in the magic of Florence.

In the Tuscan countryside, we’ll retreat to the luxurious Fonteverde Spa Resort, a magnificent palace born from a Renaissance-era portico commissioned by Grand Duke Ferdinando I de’ Medici. Travel Logistics for your wellness retreat in italy

Eyia Retreats will support you with any travel questions you may have and support your journey to Italy. We can advise or even book your flights & pre/post retreat adventures!

Please arrive in Florence by 2 pm local time on September 12th. We recommend arriving 1 to 2 days early so you can adjust to the timezone and buffer for any delays. You will need to depart USA one day prior to your desired arrival date. For example, depart USA on September 11th to arrive on September 12th.

We will have a group transfer scheduled at approximately 2 pm local time on September 12th from FLR airport in Florence to our retreat. The final time will be confirmed based on everyone’s arrival times.

We recommend departing after 3pm local time on September 18th or the next day on September 19th. You have the option to add on a travel experience in Rome at the end of the retreat.

Our Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Italy!

Welcome to Florence! Our group transfer will take you from Florence Airport to our city center hotel. You’ll check in and settle before we gather for a welcome session and a delicious welcome dinner. Sleep soundly knowing you are fully taken care of and ready to experience the best of Tuscany!

 

Day 2: Florence Exploration

Wake up in beautiful Florence! We will enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading out for our Guided Tour of the city and Duomo. Our tour is approximately 4.5 hours. After, we will head to the central market for lunch. Enjoy free time to wander the city, museum hop, jewelry & leather shop, or stroll by the Arno River. We will gather for our Group Dinner.

Day 3: To the Countryside We Go

Feeling fulfilled from a great city day, wake up with ease and ready for breakfast.  After breakfast, we depart for the countryside. The drive is less than 2 hours, and then we arrive at our gorgeous sanctuary. We will check in and settle before meeting for a village walk & orientation of the property & nearby areas. We will enjoy a gentle yoga class before our 3-course group dinner. 

Day 4: Yoga under the Tuscan Sun

Begin your day waking up to the stunning rolling hills around us. We begin with a yoga class followed by breakfast. Today, we invite you to enjoy spaciousness. Have a swim in the thermal pools and enjoy the spa amenities. In the late afternoon, we will gather for an outdoor yoga class before our Cocktail School. Our 3-course dinner follows.

Day 5: Cooking class & wine tasting at a local wine estate

Once again, you’ll begin your day with morning movement of yoga & mindfulness.  Today we are off for an adventure! A Cooking Class + Wine Tasting at a winery nestled between Montepulciano and Cortona.

Once we return, you will have some time to relax and enjoy the feeling of being soul-nourished before we gather for a sunset walk.

Enjoy another group dinner. 

Day 6: Spa & Wellness

We begin with our yoga class and breakfast. A day dedicated to well-being, spa amenities, local walks in the village, and enjoying this beautiful Tuscany experience. We will meet in the early evening for our Closing Circle and final dinner celebration.

Day 7: End of your Tuscany wellness retreat & return to Rome

Slowly wake-up and enjoy your final breakfast before we depart back to Rome.

How many people are going to be on this retreat?

This is a small group for 10-16 people.

If I’m going alone, can I book a double room and be paired up with someone?

Yes, however, a shared room is not guaranteed. We recommend inviting someone you would love to share this experience with OR reach out to us info@eyiaretreats.com about a single occupancy room

How do I get there?

1. Fly into Florence, FLR, from your departure city.

2. Arrive by 2PM on September 12th in Florence for our group transfer.

3. The group transfer will take you to our retreat location in the Florence city center.

What is the weather like?

Summer may be over, but the weather in Tuscany is still warm. We do recommend you pack a light jacket for the evenings in the countryside. Expect a typical daytime high of 27℃ (81℉), and a low of 17℃ (62℉) overnight.

If I have to cancel my trip, is any part of it refundable?

Deposit is nonrefundable.

  • If you cancel 90 days or more before your retreat start date, you will be refunded the full retreat amount (less non-refundable deposit)
  • If you cancel between 66-89 days before your retreat start date, you will refunded (less non-refundable deposit) only if we can fill your spot
  • If you cancel 65 days or less before your retreat start date, you will forfeit your entire payment.

This retreat was just what I needed! I hope to do this again!

The Art of Living Well!!! was amazing! Kat made everything easy and smooth. In addition to the retreat I requested transportation on arrival, an additional night prior to the retreat and at the end of the retreat which was arranged. I enjoyed the activities from sight seeing, to an olive oil tasting, wine tasting, cooking class, and art, with enough down time to relax or shop on your own. We (some of us) started each day with a light stretching/yoga session. The accommodations were luxurious with out being over the top, the food was delicious and a little too plentiful! This retreat was just what I needed! I hope to do this again!

I found the whole retreat experience meaningful. It is difficult to say which particular experience had the most impact, as they all intertwined. Over the course of the week, the activities brought to light areas that I need to focus on in my life. Katrina’s Milos Retreat was an epic reboot to my fitness and state of mind.

The challenging daily workouts were well balanced with calming/relaxing yoga sessions that helped close the days. The hotel location was a perfect perch above rocks and an ocean of inspiration. Having been to Greece before, I was surprised by the natural beauty of the island. Its unique beaches served not only as fun places to spend the day, but also as places to be mesmerized by the beauty of nature. I enjoyed each day whether I was swimming in crystal blue water, exploring the local town shops and history, or partaking in an art class. And, of course, the amazing Greek food did not disappoint! Following a difficult year, I left the retreat feeling recharged and I’m excited to end the year focusing on being healthy. Thanks for the awesome experience!

Each day there was a journal prompt that tied back to the theme of the retreat. Being at the Milos Breeze was the perfect environment for the retreat. The staff was very accommodating and the meal each morning was delicious. We had a handful of selections to eat and all the food was brought to us pool side. LUXRY. Kat planned two tasty group meals from a local restaurant where we got a farm to table experience. These group dinners elevated the experience since we got to try different Greek cuisine that we might not have had if it wasn't for Kat. Each meal allowed us to get closer to our fellow retreaters. My favorite day was our Kleftiko boat day adventure where we got to sail to an uninhibited part of the island that was truly breathtaking. This trip was filled with blissful moments, mindful journal prompts, deep meditation sessions, and healthy movement. Thank you for leading us through daily workout classes, meditation, and yoga. You both put a lot of thought into each class and provided alternatives to fit everyone’s level of comfortability. The host, Kat, was extremely helpful before and during the retreat. She was always available to answer any travel questions, provided amazing guidance, and recommended places to stay if we were arriving early or staying longer. During the retreat, she constantly checked in on everyone, led with kindness, and put so much thought and detail into every activity/event.

The Kat Health Fitness Greece retreat was simply an amazing experience
I met Kat randomly through Instagram & she is 100% real and kind! She made the booking process easy, and responded quickly to all my questions prior to the trip. The Greece retreat was my first solo trip, and it exceeded my expectations! Morning meditation & workouts on the beach, and yoga with an ocean view was breathtaking.. literally while running on the beach! Kat & Fran were great at instructing each class with modifications or ways to challenge yourself. There was nothing but positive vibes the whole week with an amazing group of girls! It truly was a no judgement zone as I did whatever I wanted, when I wanted! Being a working mom and wife back home I was the most relaxed I’ve ever been during this retreat in Milos, Greece. I am forever grateful for this experience, and can’t wait for another #KatHealthFitness Wellness Retreat!

I am truly blessed to have been able to attend Katrina’s 2019 Wellness Retreat on Milos: A week of fun, friendship and fitness, held at a beautiful location in Greece.
Katrina absolutely went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. She handled the reservations for our hotel, greeted everyone with individual swag bags, and even walked down to Pollonia very early one morning to select the perfect freshly caught fish for our group dinner. We each experienced an incredible in-room massage, too! Each morning began with meditation held either pool-side or at the beach, followed by fitness workouts. At the end of each day we enjoyed relaxing yoga. Both the fitness and yoga routines were geared for all levels (flailing beginner to standing on your head advanced). And there was plenty of time to relax, read, lay by the pool, or explore the island each day. Efcharistó, Katrina, for the opportunity of a lifetime!

Being my first ever wellness retreat, I didn’t know what to expect, but from the moment I arrived, it was amazing!
The location, the food, the people were all great and Katrina made everyone feel so comfortable. I came in wanting time to learn to relax and I can honestly say, with the help of meditation, yoga, and workouts, I have never had such a relaxing, rejuvenating week in my life. Can’t wait to go again!
