ATHENS

There are many options when it comes to accomodations in Athens including large hotels, rooms to rent, boutique hotels, and Airbnbs. We will share reviews on our highly recommended options! To us, best does not mean most luxurious or most expensive. It means that the combination of the experience, service, vibe, location, food, design, and overall *feeling* makes it the best to us.

Today we are sharing about xenodocheio Milos!

xenodocheio Milos

Xenodocheio means hotel in Greek. We love this new luxury boutique property because of its Greek essence including the name.

This property opened at the end of 2021 and offers 42 contemporary rooms. The hotel is located on Kolokotroni street just a few blocks away from Syntagma Square. It’s location provides noise protection from the bustle of Athens while still being centrally located.

You will have views of the Old Parliament Building and of Lycabettus Hill.

We loved the location of this property! Note: ~20 minutes walk from the Acropolis.

The hotel is stunning with high ceilings, marble bathrooms, wooden floors, velvet soft furnishing, the finest beds and linens, and some rooms with a spacious terrace.

We enjoyed the spacious and well designed bathroom with gorgeous marble. The hotel design was led by a Greek design team, which we also love. In the bathroom, you will have wonderful amenities including body oil from Naxos Apothecary, which has a store next to the hotel.

The bathroom gives a real feeling of luxury.

This hotel is the first of it’s kind for, estiatorio Milos, which is a well-known fine-dining Greek restaurant with locations around the world! Including New York, Miami, Las Vegas, and Dubai to name a few..

As a hotel guest you will have the pleasue of enjoying breakfast at the restaurant and of course can book reservations for lunch or dinner. Breakfast was delicious and the standard Greek breakfast includes, coffee/juice/tea, bread & pastries (so good!), fresh cut fruit, an egg cooked your way (I took boiled and my partner took fried) with a fresh tomato, and yogurt with honey.

During your stay you can also enjoy spa services in their spa suite and a simple workout in their gym suite. Keep in mind this is a small hotel in Athens so it is not a full spa or gym, it is a single room with enough space for single treatments or a simple workout. We worked out during our stay and all the equipment and spacing is very functional! We were able to get in a small lift and cardio session.

The evening service included arranging the lighting to soft evening light, setting up slippers on each bed side, and an offer of 2 small greek cookies, melomakarona. We had a wonderful dinner followed by an evening stroll and found it very relaxing to come back to our room with soft lights and a little treat.

The Classic Room.

The Old Parliament Building

The Greek Breakfast is delicous! You also may order ala carte.

The Milos Signature Suite is a 1 bedroom apartment. Stunning!

Enjoying the window seating. From one side you can see the Old Parliament Building and the other side Lycabettus Hill.

The evening service includes 2 Greek cookies, melomakarona. How cute are these plates?
